Turlough

A photo of Turlough.

1983, Brendan school, London. Vislor Turlough 'borrowed' Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart's car and wrecked it. There, while unconscious, he met the Black Guardian, agreeing to help the evil being kill the Doctor in exchange for a chance to leave Earth. He had reddish hair and his rapidly darting eyes made for a very guilty air surrounding him. Wearing a public school uniform, he managed to get himself involved in the Doctor's life by helping, in a roundabout way, with the situation with Mawdryn. Turlough was played by Mark Strickson.

Turlough was devious, cunning, and never held up his end of a bargain. He always seemed to be hiding something, and always had ulterior motives for his actions. He bickered with Tegan often, Several times, ordered by the Black Guardian, he interfered with the Tardis' functioning, causing accidents and emergency materialisations. After Tegan left the crew, Turlough found his people, political refugees from Trion, his home, living on Sarn. He'd been banished to Earth by Trion authorities, having been of the family who lost the civil war. After the Time lord and Turlough saved the people of Sarn, he discovered his brother was Malkon, and they both wore the Misos triangle. He returned home to Trion, after finding out that political prisoners had been pardoned there.
