Nyssa of Traken
Traken's last daughter, Nyssa, daughter of Tremas, stepdaughter of Kassia, joined the Tardis
crew when the Watcher appeared on Traken to spirit her away to Earth, to be with the Doctor
during his regeneration. Her planet was then destroyed by the Master. Wearing a regal outfit
from Traken, her brown curls fell softly onto her shoulders, and her small frame made her look
younger than she was. Extremely intelligent, adept in many subjects including chemistry, mathematics,
and even dancing, Nyssa was a valuable asset to the Tardis crew, and she got along with him most often.
She too had her times of disobedience, but only out of loyalty to the Time Lord. Nyssa was played by Sarah Sutton.
Nyssa got along well with the others in the Tardis. Her emotions did not betray her, but rather they were
controlled by her exceptionally logical and rational thinking. She cared for everyone aboard the Tardis,
especially Tegan. Like Tegan, she viewed herself as indestructable. Risking her life to save the Time Lord's,
she showed herself to be very level headed and mature, with compassion thrown into the mix as well.
When the Tardis materialised on board Terminus, she found her calling, staying behind to help the Vanir
synthesise hydromel and run Terminus as a proper hospital. The Doctor bid her farewell with these words,
'Well, you're a very brave person; I wish you the best of luck.'
