Synopsis:The Tardis materialises in June, 1925, in Cranleigh Halt,
where the travellers are warmly welcomed by the local gentry. After a superb
performance at a cricket match, the Doctor and his companions are
invited to a masked ball given by Lady Cranleigh and her son, Charles.
Nyssa turns out to be a stunning look-alike of Ann, Charles' fiancee.
Later, a masked man, using the same Pierrot costume as the Doctor, attacks Ann
and murders a servant. The Doctor eventually discovers the true murderer, George,
Charles' brother, Ann's original fiancee, and an explorer thought to have died
in the Amazon. Horribly disfigured by Indians, George now lives a secret existence,
known only to Lady Cranleigh. But he was driven mad with jealousy and grief at
the news of Ann's wedding. Exposed, George kidnaps Nyssa, but later falls to his death.
